Day 366: Our FIRST Heniversary!

And no, we didn't quite make it to 1,000 eggs.

988 in fact. But more than 1,000, if you count the softies and broken ones I've found in the poo tray!

We've had bit of a hard time of it with the rain. The run is under an apple tree which has been causing leaks. Yes, the apple tree caused leaks! Apples and leaves had blocked the corrugations, causing the horrendous rain we've had in the last few days to back up the roof and leak into the run.

We haven't been able to do anything about it - it hasn't stopped raining and we've been away a few days. But we really need to get the roof converted into modular panels before we move - we have no spare time now after tomorrow until the end of October and it'll be too late then (expecting rain!).

So we're hoping it'll be dry tomorrow and we can build individual roof panels, remove and replace the onduline. Then it'll be easy to dismantle when we move house (at the moment, the roof is one enormous 12ft x 7ft panel!!!).

On a sad note... Daft Cat died yesterday :o( She had a massive fit and, despite the help of a vet and drugs, she didn't recover :o( It was completely out of the blue - she'd been completely normal until her back legs went :o(

Very sad here today and difficult to think about anything chicken-related, really :o(
