And I'm pretty sure I've posted that before. Yep, it's chucking it down here again. Yesterday was fairly dry but today, the rain has just been torrential. So much so that the field where I work looked waterlogged - and then we saw a heron land and take off again. Must have mistook it for a lake!
Back to today. I got in from work and started draining the waterbutts as the guttering was overflowing. The rain was so heavy and the drainpipe feeds into the waterbutts via a tiny pipe - so we seemed to be getting some kind of overflow and the path was flooded. Nice!
So after sorting out the path, I went to see the girls - and saw the leaks in the run! Only a few but boy, the front of the run was soaked. I'll have to dry it out and replace some (or all) of the Aubiose tomorrow.
But meanwhile, I just rammed some bits of wood under the leaking joins in the Onsuline to lift them up and stop the water flowing backwards into the run. It's definitely only at the joins - today was the first time I'd seen the drips - so we won't have this problem when we move, as we're going to purpose build the new run to be narrower than a single sheet of Onduline! But I had to do something because the tray under the feeders (which is in place catch any spilt feed, which I throw away to ensure that I don't attract vermin) was under a good inch of water! And I felt sorry for the girls, obviously.
But the roof seems to be dry now, even though the bits of wood are random sized - and randomly fitted and look bit of a mess. I even used clothes pegs as wedges - well, I only needed 10mm of wood and they were the first thing that came to hand :o)
