Day 516: Gabrielle's laying again!

Even though the days are getting longer, it's still quite dark when I get to say night night to the girls and give them their evening porridge.

Gabrielle's pretty much over her moult now. She's gone from a scrawny, featherless, timid little girl to a beautifully feathered HEN... who's not so timid any more! Every evening as I enter with the bowls of porridge, she flies up onto the perch and then flies across to the top of the roof and eats happily, without any complaints when I stroke her now :o)

Anyway, back to the point. I opened the egg port and saw the eggs... wondering if the lighter one was white or green. I couldn't tell in the dark... but when I took it out of the egg port, YAY! IT'S GREEN!!!

Clever girls :o)

We've been busy on the run, putting flaps in so I can access the poo trays. We've bought new plastic to make new windows and some bargain glowing globes (reduced from £12 to a pound each!) and lined them up along the front of the run! Did I tell you we've put new perches in the run?

All in all, it's coming together nicely but still needs some tweaking. And guttering, to stop me getting dripped on in the rain!
